This new collection of poems will constitute the third volume of work from S. K. Yeatts. Highlights will feature additional Chan Koan “Cases” in the style of the Mumonkan & Hekiganroku, adding to his initial “Beyond the Blue Cliff” opus, as well as a unique multi-movement concept-piece based on a theme by the T’ang Dynasty poet Han Shan (“Cold Mountain Sketches – Fantasia on a Theme by Han Shan“).
“The Lotus Pool Collection: 300 Poems from the Tang Dynasty“
This new English translation of the Tang Dynasty poets portends a high watermark for rendering Tang poetry into living English. The bilingual edition will include a carefully curated selection of 84 poets, spanning all four eras of the Tang period. While short bios of all poets are included, this anthology is intended not as a scholarly apparatus-heavy edition, but as a definitive literary re-creation for poets, translators, students of Chinese literature, and general readers who may be encountering the Tang masters for the first time.
